Thrilled to have participated in the "Interactive Session on How to Invest in Startups" organized by the Startup & Entrepreneurship Forum, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, in association with Startup Punjab on 31st July 2024, at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The event, part of the ‘4E Initiative – Engage & Encourage: Ecosystem Enablers,’ aimed to educate and sensitize ecosystem enablers in Punjab about the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the entrepreneurship landscape.

Dr. JK Sharma, Chair, Startup & Entrepreneurship Forum, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, emphasized the significance of a robust startup ecosystem in Punjab and the critical role of ecosystem enablers.

Mr. Amit Madaan, Co-Chair, Startup & Entrepreneurship Forum, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, and CEO, A-square Media, delivered an insightful presentation on the basics of angel investment, covering essential aspects such as startup selection criteria, due diligence, valuation methods, and exit strategies.

Mr. Salil Kaplash, Startup Coordinator, Startup Punjab, discussed initiatives aimed at creating a supportive environment for startups, focusing on policy support and funding opportunities.

I shared my journey from a startup founder to an investor, providing valuable insights into the transition process. Dr. Ati Priye, CEO - Incubator & Startups, CGC Division of Research & Innovation, Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri (Mohali), highlighted the importance of incubators in supporting early-stage startups.

Mr. Amitesh Singh, Director, Novelty Group, shared his perspective on the long-term benefits and potential returns of investing in startups. Mr. Vikrant Kapoor, Director, Angels Paradise, Amritsar, emphasized the necessity of effective mentorship for startups.

Dr. P.K. Pati, Coordinator, GJCEI, GNDU, showcased the achievements of the Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

CA Jaideep Singh, Convener Amritsar Zone, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, urged local investors to engage more actively with emerging entrepreneurs during his vote of thanks. The session was a fantastic opportunity to connect with over 40 budding investors and key stakeholders from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The discussions highlighted the importance of supporting startups through strategic investments and mentorship, underlining the vibrant startup culture in Punjab.
